The contract

Your order is an offer; the contract is formed when we email the dispatch confirmation. Prices are in USD and exclude import duties where applicable.

Your text, your rights

You warrant that the wording you send is yours, is out of copyright, or is used with permission. Classical lines out of copyright are welcome; if a line looks recent we ask what it is, and where needed we ask for the permission before the brush moves. We decline to copy the hand of a named living calligrapher or to trace another studio’s piece.

Our work, your licence

Copyright in the brushwork and carving stays with the studio. You own the physical piece outright and receive a personal-use licence to photograph and share it. The NFC companion content is licensed for personal use, not for resale.

Previews are previews

Page images are typeset layout previews. The finished piece is brushed or carved by hand, so stroke weight, ink shade and stone colour vary from the picture; that variation is the nature of the work, not a defect.

Where machines are and are not

Artificial intelligence is used only to lay out draft previews and to pad ambient sound, and both are labelled on the page and on the piece. No machine lifts the brush or holds the knife.

What we are not

Every piece is a contemporary handmade work. Nothing we sell is an antique, a relic or a collectible, and no piece is sold with any promise of appreciation in value.

Liability and law

Our liability for any claim is capped at the value of the order, and we are not liable for indirect loss; nothing here limits rights your local consumer law refuses to let you sign away. These terms are governed by the law of the People’s Republic of China, courts of Quanzhou, without prejudice to those mandatory protections.

Changes to these terms are posted on this page with the date of change.
